Endodontic treatment

If your child has a damaged or diseased tooth, then we may recommend endodontic treatment. These procedures can relieve any pain your child may be experiencing and prevent more serious conditions from developing.

What are the signs of pulp injury and infection?

Injured or inflamed can be extremely painful. Even if the source of pain isn’t visible, it will quickly become obvious when your child needs to see a Dentist.

Schedule a dental appointment if your child has any of the below signs and symptoms:

  • Constant unexplained pain.
  • Nighttime pain.
  • Tooth sensitivity to warm and cool food temperatures.
  • Redness or swelling around the affected tooth.
  • Unexpected looseness of the affected tooth.

Types of treatments

Pulp therapy (root canal therapy)

At our practice, we perform pulp therapy on both primary (baby) teeth and permanent teeth. The procedure involves removing the affected pulp and surrounding tooth decay. After this, a crown is placed on the tooth. The crown strengthens the tooth structure, reducing the risk of future fractures.

Regenerative Endodontic Procedure

A regenerative endodontic procedure involves disinfecting and cleaning the interior of the tooth, then stimulating the growth of new pulp. This restores the strength and vitality of the tooth to help keep it healthy for years to come. A regenerative endodontic procedure uses special techniques and materials to stimulate the regrowth of pulp after a tooth infection in a permanent tooth.
